Matteo Deleidi is Associate Professor in Applied Economics (13/ECON-04) at the Department of Political Science, University of Bari Aldo Moro (Italy). He holds a PhD in Political Economy from Roma Tre University, where he specialised in post-Keynesian monetary theory and macroeconomics. His research interests span applied macroeconomics, fiscal policy and fiscal multipliers, monetary economics, theories of economic growth, mission-oriented innovation policies, regional economics, and ecological economics.

His work has been published in leading international peer-reviewed journals, including the Economic Journal, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Research Policy, Oxford Economic Papers, Regional Studies, Energy Policy, and Macroeconomic Dynamics. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Review of Political Economy and as Associated Editor of the Bulletin of Political Economy, and has received national and international awards and recognition from academic institutions and research networks.

Before joining the University of Bari, he held research positions at the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP) at University College London (UCL), Roma Tre University, the University of Naples Parthenope, and Sapienza University of Rome. He was also a visiting researcher at Leeds University Business School and at the Centre d'études de l'emploi et du travail (CEET), CNAM Paris.

He has served as Principal Investigator on research projects funded by the Hans Böckler Foundation (SEED), the Italian Ministry of University and Research – PRIN 2022 PNRR (DEMETRA), UK Research and Innovation – Innovate UK, and the BE-FOR-ERC fellowship at Sapienza University of Rome. He has also worked as a consultant for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Since 2022, he is a member of the Board of Lecturers of the PhD Programme in Economics at the Department of Economics, Roma Tre University.
