Research

The research activity is focalised mainly on the study of infectious diseases of ruminants with particular emphasis on herpesvirus infections. In particular, the main interest is the study of caprine herpesvirus infection of goats. Due to the similarities of the infection with genital herpesvirus infection of the man, goats are used as animal model for the development of vaccines and new therapies with natural or synthetic antiviral drugs.
