Savino Longo, PhD, studies theoretical models of different states of matter like neutral and ionized gases, surfaces, metal alloys, confined molecules. He is also involved in experimental studies of materials using laser analysis, foundational and historical issues related to Chemistry. He has developed computer models based on ODE, PDE, Monte Carlo methods, neural networks. His models find applications to lasers, electric discharges, nuclear fusion technology, aerospace technology, astrophysics, geochemistry, astrobiology.
