Attività di Ricerca

Overall, my research activities and interests are mainly focussed upon the development of energy, environmental and economic assessments in the fields of: commodity science; industrial and environmental engineering; buildings; renewable energy; agriculture; and, food production and packaging.
Within those themes, since 2013 I have authored and co-authored more than seventy publications in international journals, book chapters and conference proceedings, and has taught university courses, and has given lots of lectures and seminars.
I am currently a member of the scientific boards of a series of international journals like ‘Physical sciences forum’, ‘AIMS Environmental Science’, ‘Frontiers in Sustainability’, ‘Resources’, ‘Technical Issues’, and ‘Management’. I also contributed, as member of the advisory and organising committee, to the development of national and international conferences like ‘AISME2022’, ‘GEMCIVIL2023’, ‘BASIQ2021’, ‘CIMEE20’, ‘Re-Greece 2016’, ‘icRS2018’.
I have been the editor, along with Prof. Marek Ćwiklicki and Prof. Magdalena Wojnarowska, of the book titled “Sustainable Products in the Circular Economy. Impact on Business and Society”, which is currently in press and will be published by Routledge (Taylor & Francis Group) (https://www.routledge.com/Sustainable-Products-in-the-Circular-Economy-Impact-on-Business-and-Society/Cwiklicki-Ingrao-Wojnarowska/p/book/9781032017013).
I have guest-edited with a managing role the following special issues:
• "Sustainability of circular-chemistry based sectors" in 'Journal of Cleaner Production'
• "Sustainability issues of food processing and packaging: The Role of Life Cycle Assessment", in the 'International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment'
• "Life Cycle Sustainability Analysis of Resource Recovery from Waste Management Systems in a Circular Economy Perspective", in the MDPI-journal 'Resources'
• "Waste for Buildings", in the 'Resources, Conservation and Recycling' journal;
• "Bio-Economy Path for CP", in 'Journal of Cleaner Production'.
Whilst, to-date I am guest editing the following ones:
- "Carbon Footprint and Sustainable Assessment in Foods", which will be published by the MDPI-journal 'Foods';
- “Life Cycle Assessment for the Sustainability of Hybrid Materials and Composites” in the Elsevier-journal 'Hybrid Advances'; and
