Main research fields: The scientific work is aimed to study fungi of medical and veterinary concern. Specifically, the main research topics are related to studies on morphological and molecular identification of dermatophytes, Aspergillus spp. and emerging yeasts such as Malassezia spp., Cryptococcus spp. and Candida spp; Studies on invasive fungal infection (mainly Malassezia spp. and Candida spp.) in immuno-compromised patients; the in vitro antifungal susceptibility of fungi isolated from different sources (i.e., humans, animals and environment) to azoles and polyenes; the molecular mechanisms involved in the antifungal resistance phenomena; the role of fungi in animal products; the useful of entomopathogenic fungi for the arthropods control. Her scientific output in Veterinary Mycology and Parasitology to date consists of 125 peer-reviewed scientific articles in international journals with ISSN, 98 contributions at international/national conferences 6 book chapters.
