Research Activity

My research activity is devoted to NMR spectroscopy and biophysical characterization of proteins and protein complexes involved in electron transfer and metal-trafficking processes.

My current research is focused on the interaction of inorganic compounds (metallodrugs and nanostructures) with biomolecules, and on the role of metal ions in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, through the elucidation of underlying chemical and molecular mechanisms by means of various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques, also applied to living cells.
