Food Science and Technology (CLM STAL)


 

The Master degree course in Food Science and Technologies provides advanced knowledge and trains problem solving skills in a coordinated and complete professional vision of food and beverage processing. In particular, the Ms in Science and Food Technologies will be able to: i) carry out programming, control, coordination and training activities in the production, storage, distribution and management of food and beverages; ii) improve food production in an economic and qualitative sense, ensuring the sustainability and eco-compatibility of industrial activities; iii) enhancing and certifying food quality, including typical and traditional foods; iv) implementing innovation in the sector of food and beverages, taking into account the scientific and technological evolution in the field; v) designing functional and health-related key features that meet the needs of the modern consumer; vi) managing waste and by-products from the food industries by developing a virtuous circular economy approach, including the extraction of molecules of interest for subsequent use in innovative food products and packaging materials. The general objective is the constant improvement of food products, guaranteeing the sustainability and eco-compatibility of industrial activities and incorporating innovation.
