Kick-off of the Quasimodo Project: 1st Workshop on "Cutting-Edge Technologies for Health" - June 9th, 2023

We are glad to announce the inaugural workshop of the Quasimodo project, which has bestowed upon our Physics Department the esteemed status of "Department of Excellence". This workshop will be dedicated to the work package titled "Cutting-Edge Technologies for Health".

The primary objective of this work package is to develop innovative sensors for the early diagnosis of tumors and the monitoring of oncological therapies' efficacy. These sensors utilize optical methods such as spectroscopy, micro-fluidics through Lab-on-Chip technology, or radiation detection including heterogeneous scintillators and silicon detectors for imaging techniques, as well as bio-electronic techniques like field-effect electrolyte-gated transistors.

This workshop represents an exceptional opportunity to explore the cutting-edge advancements in precision science. We have gathered a diverse lineup of speakers from various research areas, including Biosciences, Biotechnology, Biopharmaceutics, Material Science, and Particle Physics. Their presentations will shed light on the latest breakthroughs in their respective fields, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and broadening our perspectives in the realm of state-of-the-art health technologies.
