The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (EGEI) is a two-year (120 ECTS) program fully taught in English, aiming at satisfying an increasing demand for academically trained economists who have the skills to:
- competently analyse issues of globalisation and economic integration;
- make relevant policy or strategic recommendations in the public and private sector;
- acquire these competences in a truly global learning environment.
In the Italian Educational System the programme is a Laurea magistrale (LM56). Mere precisely, students will be enrolled in Laurea Magistrale in Economia e Strategie per i Mercati Internazionali (ESMI), Curriculum Internazionale Erasmus Mundus in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (EGEI).
Upon completion of the programme you will get a prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Degree signed by the Rectors of all the involved Institutions (Italy, Belgium, France, Chile, Estonia, Spain).
Who should apply?
This master’s degree programme in economics is geared to students interested in careers in governments and international organisations, and in the research and strategy departments of large banks and industrial and commercial corporations or in academia.

About 15 Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree scholarships per year are available on a competitive basis each year (deadline for academic year 2022-23, 15/february/2022)

Structure of the programme and partners
The master’s programme has a workload of 120 ECTS credits, with a taught part consisting of 90 credits, an internship of 10 credits and a dissertation of 20 credits.
The study programme is full-time and runs over 24 months. It is taught by staff of the eight partner institutions and by high-profile visiting scholars. During the 2-years students move as a group to at least three different universities in three different countries.
It is taught by staff of the 8 partner institutions: University of Bari (Italy), Xiamen University (China), University of Lille (France), Ghent University (Belgium), CEPS (Belgium), University of Cantabria (Spain), Tartu University (Estonia), Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria (Chile)
During the year students move as a group to three different universities in three different countries and then have a final term for internship and final dissertation.
Successfull students earn a diploma that is jointlty awarded by a consortium of seven universities and a leading global think tank, CEPS (Belgium). The University of Tartu (Estonia) will award a Double Degree. The Joint Degree is fully recognized in the partners’ Educational System. For instance in Italy, Master EGEI is accredited as a ‘Laurea Magistrale’ (LM 56) giving access, among other career options, to PhD studies.
