OBSTETRIC AND ANDROLOGICAL CLINIC
The veterinary obstetric and andrological clinic deals with the management of reproduction in the various animal species, with particular reference to pathophysiology, diagnostics, andrological and obstetric-gynecological clinics, perinatology, techniques for optimizing reproductive potential, hygiene measures, prophylaxis and medical and surgical therapy of the genital and mammary systems, to biotechnologies applied to reproduction, such as control and conditioning of male and female gametes, natural and artificial fertilization, differentiation of stem cells, production of in vivo and in vitro embryos and related transfer protocols , veterinary bioengineering and molecular genetics applications.
The section of Obstetric and Andrologic Clinic makes use of :
- instrumental examinations for diagnostic purposes offering expertise in veterinary ultrasonography and laparoscopy also for the purpose of obstetric, gynecological and andrological surgery;
- an andrology laboratory for evaluations on seminal material and sexing of birds; a laboratory for evaluations of hormonal tests, CPSE and oxidative stress;
- a laboratory for biotechnology and molecular genetics for gametes and embryos.
