The Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) of the Campus of Veterinary Medicine of Valenzano (BARI) was founded in 2004 when the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine moved from the old headquarters of Bari-Japigia to Valenzano.
VTH is a regional point of reference for the care of pets, livestock and non-conventional animals. It offers hospitalization and specialist consultancy services in different branches of veterinary medicine thanks to the contribution of teachers and technical personnel belonging to the Department of Veterinary Medicine (DiMeV) and to the Department of Medicine of Precision and Regenerative and Jonica Area (DiMePRe-J), as well as the contribution of external professionals.
In addition to the care of animals, the main mission of VTH is the basic clinical training of the students of the Degree course in Veterinary Medicine who support vets during clinical activities.
