Avalanche testing: towards the next generation of particle detectors

Raffaella Radogna tells Nature Italy about her research at Dipartimento di Fisica and INFN Bari

Our researcher Raffaella Radogna has been invited to join the "Where I work" project on Nature Italy. Every month the journal’s section features scientists across Italy and interviews them about their research.

With Nature Italy she shares her academic path and scientific interests. She has been working for many years on the CMS Experiment at CERN and within the CMS GEM collaboration and her colleagues in Bari she builds and tests Gas Electron Multiplier chambers for the CMS Muon system. After an international experience at University College London working on detector development for medical protons range verification, she returned to Bari. Raffaella now holds a RTDb position and works, in addition to CMS, on detector R&D for future Muon Colliders and technology transfer.
