Sept 2022: Congratulations to Angelantonio e Gianluca who have been accepted in the doctoral school in Applied Neuroscience!

 

Sept 2022: A delegation of the GNP lead by Giulio, Linda, and Antonio will be presenting our current research at the 2022 European Research Night, the 30th of September at Parco Rossani in Bari. Join us from 11 am to midnight! Also, Linda’s group will deliver an oral presentation focused on the Prosociobully Project.

 

Sept 2022: The Dean of the University of Bari, Prof. Stefano Bronzini and Prof. Daniel R. Weinberger, director of the Lieber Institute for Brain Development (LIBD) affiliated with the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA), signed the research agreement intended to strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions, whose joint work already led to important results on risk factors and biological pathways involved in schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. https://ledicoladelsud.it/2022/09/16/accordo-per-la-ricerca-contro-la-schizofrenia-tra-uniba-e-libd-video

Jul 2022: Congrats to Giulio and Loredana that have been awarded a grant on the topic: "National centre for HPC, big data and quantum computing". One additional doctoral scholarship in the PhD school of Applied Neuroscience will be available.

 

Jul 2022: Congrats to Leonardo which has been selected for the Canada-Italy Innovation Prize 2022 and is going to spend a three-months research period at the Douglas Research Center – McGill University, Montreal, CA supervised by Prof. Corina Nagy. Jul 2022: Kudos to the team that worked on the application for a doctoral scholarship in the PhD school for Artificial Intelligence: Linda, Fabiana, Annalisa, Roberta, and Alessandra! The student will undertake a project on prediction of cognitive deficits following thalamic lesions based on thalamo-cortical connectivity pattern profiles and will start the fellowship in 2023.

Jun 2022: Congrats to Angelatonio Tavella whose work has been selected as best poster at the “Innovazione e salute mentale: nuove strategie di indagine e trattamento in psichiatria” Conference.

 

Jun 2022: Congrats to Annalisa Lella, whose work has been selected for a poster prize at SOPSI! Her award is shared with Linda Antonucci and the work will be the subject of an oral presentation which has been delivered by Christian Valt. True teamwork!

May 2022: Congrats to Giulio for being appointed Associated Professor at the Liber institute of Brain Development and received a professorship at the John Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA

 

Mar 2022: Congratulations to Roberta who successfully discussed her doctoral thesis and obtained the doctoral degree in Biomolecular Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences!

 

Feb 2022: GNP all over SIRS! Nora was chosen as an early research career awardee for the 2022 Congress of the Schizophrenia International Research Society in Florence. Here she will present her work in an oral presentation titled "Multimodal prediction of continued cannabis use in individuals with recent-onset psychosis and clinical high-risk for psychosis" and a poster presentation titled "White matter abnormalities in clinical high-risk state and recent-onset psychosis".  Enrico was chosen as an early research career awardee for the 2022 Congress of the Schizophrenia International Research Society in Florence.

Nov 2021: Welcome, Christopher! GNP welcomes Dr. Christopher Borcuk, formal doctoral student at the Université de Strasbourg, where he evaluated brain network dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease. Christopher joins GNP as a Postdoctoral fellow interested in using genetic co-expression networks to better understand the neurobiology of psychiatric risk. Welcome, Christopher!

 

Nov 2021: Welcome, Fabiana! GNP welcomes Fabiana Rossi, MS in Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology at the University of Turin.  Fabiana joins GNP as a PhD student enrolled in the National PhD in Artificial Intelligence & Health Science. Welcome, Fabiana!
