Giuseppe Campesi
Short bio
Between 2008 and 2010, Prof. Campesi served as a research fellow at the Department of Theory and History of Law at the University of Florence. During the academic year 2010/2011, he was a Jean Monnet Post-Doctoral Fellow at the European University Institute.
In 2011, Prof. Campesi joined the Department of Political Sciences at the "Aldo Moro" University of Bari, where he currently holds the position of Associate Professor in Law and Society and also serves as the coordinator for the Master's program in Criminology and Security Policies.
Prof. Campesi's research encompasses a wide range of interdisciplinary areas, bridging law and social sciences. His work primarily centers around contemporary social theory, critical legal studies, critical criminology, as well as border controls and migration policies.
He has taken a leadership role in establishing and overseeing the Observatory on immigration detention and the reception of asylum seekers in Apulia and he is also responsible for the Jean Monnet Module: Migration, Borders and Human Rights.
