Research topics

The research activity of the Internal Medicine Unit is focused on Canine Vector Borne Diseases (CVBD). Haematological and bone marrow abnormalities are investigated in dogs infected by different pathogens including Leishmania infantum, Anaplasma platys, Ehrlichia canis and Dirofilaria spp. Pathogenic mechanisms of canine leishmaniasis involving viral agents are also of interest.
