Research topics

LabDog aims to study dog, cat, horse and donkey behaviour and cognition, as well as their relationships with humans. Privately-owned animals take part in ethological studies that do not involve stressful and invasive procedures. Emotions, intelligence and learning are investigated in order to identify new methods for measuring animals’emotional states and any direct implications on their welfare. The activities at LabDog are designed to encourage student participation and to teach them the basic concepts of animal behaviour.
