MCI

The Mobility Confap Italy is a bilateral program between Brazil and Italy devoted to master (Mestrado) students, only for a research period; PhD students, only for a limited period as Sandwich PhD (Doctorado Sándwich); and Post Doc who wish to perform a mobility period in Italy.

The Network of Italian Universities works in cooperation with the Brazilian Institution CONFAP and it is coordinated by the University of Bologna who acts as a Technical Secretariat. Starting in 2024, the University of Bari Aldo Moro will participate in the program.

Who are partners of the MCI Program

The Mobility Confap Italy started from the cooperation  between CONFAP (Conselho Nacional das Fundações Estaduais de Amparo à Pesquisa) and a Network of Italian Universities. CONFAP is a non-governmental organization which aims to promote the best articulation of the interest of the State agencies to support the scientific and technological research and innovation in Brazil. It congregates the 27 State Funding Agencies (known as FAPs in Portuguese). The Network of Italian  Universities is a group of Italian Universities who join the Program, offering a vast array of research opportunities for Brazilian candidates. The Italian Network is coordinated by the University of Bologna (UNIBO) who acts as a Technical Secretariat.

Bando Mobility Confap Italy II

The Mobility Confap Italy (MCI II) is the second edition of an international cooperation programme between CONFAP (Conselho Nacional das Fundações Estaduais de Amparo à Pesquisa) and a Network of Italian Universities that aims at facilitating and supporting effective collaborations between Italy and Brazil through the mobility of PhD students, Master students (Mestrado students) and post docs to Italy.

The Brazilian call 2025 was launched on 17 February 2025 and it will be open until 25 April. It is available at this link:
