Erasmus Mundus Master programme in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (EGEI)

Thirty years ago, a small group of visionary pioneers in international higher education gathered in Bari to launch one of Europe’s earliest international university programs, now recognized as the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (EGEI) (www.master-egei.eu).

Since its inception, over 500 students from across the globe have graduated from the EGEI program, gaining a world-class education tailored to pursuing careers in economics and business on a global scale.

Today, the EGEI program is a comprehensive two-year (120 ECTS) course fully taught in English and managed by an international consortium, coordinated by the University of Bari Aldo Moro. The program – recognized as an Erasmus Mundus joint master Degree - benefits from the collaboration of several prestigious EU and non-EU academic and research institutions.

On October 18th, the latest cohort of EGEI graduates, from more than 20 countries, will be awarded the Erasmus Mundus Joint Degree in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (Laurea Magistrale). The degree will be co-signed by seven rectors from universities across the world, including the University of Bari (Italy), University of Cantabria (Spain), University of Ghent (Belgium), University of Lille (France), University of Tartu (Estonia), Federico Santa Maria Technical University (Chile), and Xiamen University (China), in cooperation with the renowned think-tank, the Center for Economic Policy Studies (Belgium).

This special event will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of the EGEI program, highlighted by the inaugural Global Meeting of the EGEI Alumni Association.
