Curriculum

Prof. Raffaele Luigi SCIORSCI was graduated at the Veterinary Medicine School of Bari with 110/110.

In June 1989, the 15th  he achieved a PhD in Veterinary Obstetric and Gynaecology at the University of Perugia. From 1991 to 1993 he participated to a post-doctoral in human and animal Biology of Reproduction at the Veterinary Medicine School of University of Bari.

From October 1993 to September 1998 he was researcher at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bari.

He has attended several post-graduated courses such as Equine reproduction (chairman - prof Kenney); Reproductive Biotechnology (chairman - prof. Polge); Anaesthesiology and Reanimation (chairman - prof. Corbascio); experimental microsurgery (Human Medicine School, University of Napoli).

He was teacher of temporary appointment of Obstetric and Veterinary Obstetric and Gynaecological Clinic at the University of Bari and teacher of Anatomy and Clinical Pharmacology in Post graduate Veterinary School of Phisiopatology of Reproduction at the same University.

He taught Obstetric and Gynaecological Clinic at University of Teramo.

In June 2000, he qualified as full professor, in Obstetric and Veterinary genealogy, at University of Pisa.

At present, he is full professor of Obstetric and Neonatology, Obstetric Clinic at University of Bari.

He is holder of a patent concerning the combined use of opioid antagonists and calcium salts. This patent is recognized by European Patent Office of Monaco and the Commisioners of Patents and Trademarks of USA. In October 2004, the patent was purchased and acquired by Progenics Pharmaceutical Inc.

In 2003 and in 2005, he was scientific coordinator of two projects financed by MIUR entitled: “Evaluation of free radicals and beta-endorphins in Repeat Breeder cows" and “Metabolic and ovaric modifications in bovine with follicular cysts", respectively. From 2008 to 2012 he coordinated a regional project entitled: "Evaluation of the oxidative stress in the cow, effects on milk quality: practical and business application to improve dairy industry production”.

From 2004 to 2015 he was director of the course of doctorate in Biology of Human and Animal Reproduction.

From 2005 to 2011 he was director of the Department of Animal Production.

In 2007 he was member of the scientific committee for the didactics of the University of Bari.

From 2013 he is coordinator of Mobile Clinic, at University of Bari.

He was member of committee for national scientific qualification for associate and full professor at section 07/H5 Veterinary Surgery and Obstetric Clinic, at 2012 and 2013 (DD n. 773 del 17 december 2012)

He is referee of different journal, such as: Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology, Research in Veterinary Science, Theriogenolgy, Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology, Domestic Animal Endocrinology.

He is author of 246 scientific publications dealing with Clinic and Physio-pathology.
