MICHELETTI FRANCESCA From May 2006 at “Aldo Moro” Bari University Researcher (GEO/07-PETROLOGY AND PETROGRAPHY) RESEARCH Study area: Calabria and Southern Apennines (Southern Italy) Research activity respect to: • Petrological evolution of the Hercynian continental crust • Modelling of the chemical composition of the continental crust • Lower crust and melting processes in migmatitic metapelites • Geochemical behavior of chemical elements in increasing metamorphic grade in metapelites • Neoproterozoic-Cambrian acidic and mafic magmatism • U-Pb geochronology on zircon crystals: a) separation of heavy minerals using high density liquids, b) image analysis (BSE and CL) and c) spot dating by SIMS (CRPG-CNRS, Nancy, France) and LA-ICP-MS (IGG, CNR, Pavia) • Study of distribution and behaviour of trace and REE elements in zircon, garnet, pyroxene, feldspar and apatite by LA-ICP-MS (IGG, CNR, Pavia) • Provenance study on sandstones • Detrital zircon dating by LA-ICP-MS TEACHING (Bari University) Natural Sciences course • Teaching of “Applied Petrography” • “Petrography and Vulcanism” practical lectures • Graduation thesis supervisor • Petrography and field trip practical lectures in Calabria • Teaching and supervisor activity in University Master Geological Sciences course • “Magmatic Petrography” practical lectures • Teaching of “Petrography of sedimentary rocks” • graduation thesis supervisor and PhD tutor
