- Full Professor of Infectious Diseases of Domestic Animals at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bari

Professional qualifications:

- De-facto Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Microbiology (2016)

PhD degree at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Utrecht, The Netherlands (2009).

- Doctorate fellowship in “Infectious diseases of carnivores” (2004).

Academic assignments:

- Member of the Academic Senate, University of Bari (since 2021)

- Director of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bari (since 2021).

- Coordinator of the PhD course “Animal Health and Zoonoses” (2017-2021)

- Vice Director and Research Delegate of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bari (2015-2021).

Teaching activities:

- Viral Diseases of Domestic Animals of the Veterinary Medicine course degree (since 2012).

- Infectious diseases of domestic carnivores of the Post-graduate School of Infectious Diseases of Animals.

- Infectious diseases of animals 1-  PhD course “Animal Health and Zoonoses” (since 2016).

- President of the Italian Society of Veterinary Infectivologists (ANIV) (2018-2022).

- Member of the executive committee of the European College of Veterinary Microbiology (ECVM) (since 2015), with the role of vicepresident (since 2021)

- Member of the  Board of the Italian Society  of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (Si.Di.L.V.), (from 2013-2019), with the role of Secretary from 2014.

- Member of the working group for Animal Health of the Italian Ministry of Health  (2021-2022).
