Il Corso di Scienze della Comunicazione Pubblica, Sociale e d’Impresa dell’Università degli Studi di Bari offre una formazione avanzata e aggiornata a chi aspira ad operare da comunicatore in aziende, istituzioni pubbliche o realtà non profit.

Nei due anni di corso, gli studenti imparano le teorie comunicative e le tecniche in uso nelle organizzazioni, approfondiscono le implicazioni economiche, le strategie base del marketing, i metodi statistici di raccolta e analisi dei dati ma anche le potenzialità del linguaggio, la ricchezza del patrimonio letterario europeo e le norme comunitarie che regolano il settore. Un percorso agevolato da laboratori, stage, seminari con ospiti dal mondo della ricerca, dell'impresa e delle professioni. 

La sfida è formare professionisti completi, flessibili e responsabili, in grado di inserirsi con padronanza multidisciplinare nei reparti e ricoprire i ruoli che gestiscono i processi di comunicazione interna ed esterna alle aziende e alle istituzioni pubbliche e sociali.

Educational objectives

The Master's degree course in Public, Social and Business Communication Sciences aims to provide: 

  • Advanced theoretical, conceptual and methodological knowledge of sociological, economic, linguistic, political, demographic, statistical, literary and semiotic disciplines; 
  • Specialized and interdisciplinary knowledge for the construction of specific skills in the design of content and communication systems, in the management of communication processes as well as in the enhancement of the human resources involved in these processes; 
  • Specific professional skills to operate autonomously in the field of public, social and institutional communication, in public and private enterprises, in companies belonging to the territorial production districts and in various (profit and non-profit) public and private institutions. 

 

The main educational objectives are aimed at providing students with in-depth knowledge relating to: 

  • communicative, semiotic, linguistic, political, economic-legal, historical and information; 
  • the field of language sciences, social sciences, political sciences, statistics and demographics, as well as advanced qualitative and quantitative methodologies for basic and applied research in communication; 
  • various fields of communication and information, with reference also to the analysis of the media used in business communication, public and non-profit bodies; 
  • the written and oral communication skills of the English language, with reference to the disciplinary terminology of the master's degree course; 
  • the use of verbal language, in its various articulations, necessary to guarantee the effectiveness of communication systems in different application contexts (e.g. the management of internal and external communication flows of public and private companies, entities and in the public administration);
  • linguistic communication tools and their application also in the IT and telematic fields; 
  • organizational culture and the dynamics of human resource management in public and private organizations; 
  • the creation of communication products and promotional campaigns of public bodies, businesses and non-profit organizations; 
  • the techniques and methodologies of socio-demographic and polling research; 
  • the organizational and managerial skills to carry out highly responsible functions in profit and non-profit organizations;
  • the fulfilment of highly responsible functions in the management of internal and external communication flows of companies, public bodies and companies, and third-sector organizations;
  • knowledge, also acquired through workshops by professionals and internships in organizations and companies, aimed at developing the ability to design content, including multimedia and hypertext. 
  • knowledge of the rules that regulate public and corporate communication and determine their control and ethics. 

 

The Master's degree programme is proposed through the application of innovative research in the field of communication, aimed at pursuing interdisciplinary and intercultural training, as well as internationalization. On the one hand, it aims to implement the dialogue between universities, institutional realities, territorial production realities, also small and medium-size ones; on the other, it aims to create specific skills and expendable professional figures, who can boast a high level of education and training.

 

Career opportunities

Graduates can work in public administrations, local authorities, welfare agencies, companies, as well as in those service companies where the specialized skills described above are required. 

Graduates can work as communication experts and managers in private and public companies, with managerial, organizational and operational functions, in the enhancement of human resources, the management of structures for relations with the public, the design and implementation of integrated communication, within public bodies, non-profit organizations, and in companies. 

The professional profile of the graduates will be characterized by their ability to elaborate, plan and manage resources, dialogue with a plurality of economic, social and institutional bodies. 

 

The course trains graduates who will work as: 

  • Management specialists in the Public Administration 
  • Control specialists in the Public Administration 
  • Specialists in public relations, image and related professions
  • Experts in the study, management and control of social phenomena
