La frequenza dei corsi è consigliata, ma non obbligatoria.

L’unità di misura del lavoro richiesto allo/alla studente/studentessa per l’espletamento di ogni attività formativa è il CFU (Credito Formativo Universitario). Ogni credito corrisponde a 25 ore di lavoro da parte dello studente, di cui una parte è di attività assistita ed una parte è di attività autonoma.

La ripartizione dell'impegno orario dello/della studente/studentessa per ciascun credito formativo tra attività didattica assistita e studio individuale è articolata nel seguente modo:

In riferimento al singolo CFU:

La tipologia delle forme didattiche adottate è molteplice: lezioni frontali in aula, esercitazioni numeriche e pratiche in aula e in laboratori interni attrezzati; laboratori esterni: esercitazioni in campagna.

Verifica dell’apprendimento

La valutazione del profitto degli/delle studenti/studentesse avviene attraverso esami di profitto che possono prevedere sia una prova scritta che orale; il docente può, durante lo svolgimento del corso, prevedere delle forme di verifica sugli argomenti svolti.

Gli accertamenti dovranno essere sempre individuali, avere luogo in condizioni che garantiscano l’approfondimento, l’obiettività e l’equità della valutazione in rapporto con l’insegnamento o l’attività seguita e con quanto esplicitamente richiesto ai fini della prova. L’esame di profitto darà luogo ad una votazione espressa in trentesimi.

Per insegnamenti singoli articolati in più moduli, la verifica consisterà in un esame finale unico.

La verifica della conoscenza della lingua inglese consisterà in una prova scritta seguita da un colloquio.

La verifica dei risultati degli stage, dei tirocini e dei periodi di studio all’estero sarà effettuata attraverso la presentazione di una relazione scritta delle attività svolte, che sarà approvata prima dai tutor interno ed esterno e successivamente dalla Giunta di Interclasse.

Attività a scelta dello studente

Le attività a scelta dello/della studente/studentessa servono a completare ed arricchire le conoscenze acquisite nel proprio percorso formativo. Per quanto riguarda le attività formative a scelta dello studente/studentessa, il CdS propone alcuni corsi d’insegnamento, che insieme costituiscono un unico esame.

Se lo studente intende avvalersi di altre attività formative (offerte da UNIBA), deve farne richiesta alla Giunta di CISG che valuterà se esse, pur restando libere, siano coerenti con il progetto formativo del CdS, così come prescritto dall'art. 10 del DM 270/2004. Dette attività dovranno comunque avere contenuti non riscontrabili in alcuna delle attività istituzionali previste dal piano di studi ufficiale della laurea frequentata dallo studente. La richiesta, dopo l’approvazione da parte della Giunta sarà inviata alla segreteria studenti per le registrazioni formali.

Potranno inoltre essere riconosciute come attività a scelta quelle svolte nell'ambito dell’Orientamento Consapevole, e del progetto PLS (Piano Lauree Scientifiche), realizzati dal Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra e Geoambientali; tali attività potranno essere registrate nella carriera dello studente già alla fine del II semestre del I anno, secondo modalità che sono state individuate dal Senato Accademico.

A tal proposito saranno riconosciuti i crediti ottenuti dallo/dalla studente/studentessa per le attività svolte per l’acquisizione delle competenze trasversali che sono state approvate dal Consiglio di Amministrazione dell’Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro e che costituiscono una delle azioni formalmente inserite nell’ambito del Progetto di Programmazione Triennale presentato dalla Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro e finanziato dal Ministero, così come saranno erogate dalle strutture Dipartimentali/Didattiche della medesima università e dalle medesime codificate. Nella homepage dell’Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro al link: https://www.uniba.it/didattica/altri-corsi/competenze-trasversali è stato pubblicato il catalogo degli insegnamenti e dei laboratori nell’ambito del progetto Uniba4Future – Competenze Trasversali.

I crediti acquisiti a seguito di esami sostenuti con esito positivo per insegnamenti aggiuntivi rispetto a quelli conteggiabili ai fini del completamento del percorso che porta al titolo di studio rimangono registrati nella carriera dello/della studente/studentessa e possono dare luogo a successivi riconoscimenti ai sensi della normativa in vigore. Le valutazioni ottenute per tali insegnamenti aggiuntivi non rientrano, comunque, nel computo della media dei voti degli esami di profitto.

Propedeuticità

Si raccomanda fortemente agli studenti di sostenere gli esami e le prove di verifica secondo la sequenza dei corsi così come indicata nel piano di Studi ufficiale. Gli studenti non potranno comunque sostenere esami del terzo anno se non avranno superato tutti quelli del primo anno.

Organizzazione del corso

Il Corso di studio è organizzato in semestri. Per il I anno il primo semestre inizia la prima settimana di ottobre e termina la prima metà di gennaio; per il II e III anno il primo semestre inizia l’ultima settimana di settembre e finisce subito prima dell’inizio delle vacanze natalizie. Il secondo semestre comincia all’inizio del mese di marzo e finisce nella prima metà del mese di giugno. Di anno in anno verranno pubblicate nel sito del corso di Laurea le date esatte di inizio e fine di ciascun semestre. Tra il primo e il secondo semestre saranno a disposizione degli studenti in corso tre appelli di esami di profitto per tutti i corsi. Altri tre appelli si svolgeranno nel periodo giugno e luglio e due a settembre. Solo per gli studenti fuori corso sono previsti appelli ogni mese, escluso quello di agosto. Il Consiglio di Interclasse deciderà all’inizio di ogni semestre per una eventuale breve sospensione delle attività didattiche per effettuare esoneri e/o appelli straordinari per gli studenti in corso.

La maggior parte degli insegnamenti prevede sia lezioni frontali in aula, esercitazioni in aula e laboratorio sia interno (in aula) che esterno (in campagna). Il laboratorio interno ed esterno e le esercitazioni in aula sono parte integrante dei corsi. La loro frequenza è requisito necessario per sostenere il relativo esame.

L’orario delle lezioni, esercitazioni e laboratori è compreso entro la fascia oraria tra le 8.30 e le 20.00 dal lunedì al venerdì, salvo diverse esigenze che potranno verificarsi. Il Dipartimento di Scienze delle Terra e Geoambientali, in accordo con il Consiglio di Corso di Studi, contribuisce a sostenere le spese per i laboratori esterni e per la campagna geologica nei limiti del finanziamento annualmente ricevuto. All’inizio di ogni semestre il Consiglio dedica una seduta a tale argomento. La campagna geologica è obbligatoria: consiste in attività di laboratorio esterno di alcuni giorni e dà diritto ai crediti ad essa assegnati attraverso la presentazione ed approvazione di una relazione scritta corredata da una carta e sezioni geologiche.

Course attendance is recommended but not mandatory.

The unit of measurement of the work required of the student for the completion of each training activity is the UFC (Universitary Formative Credit). Each credit corresponds to 25 hours of work on the part of the student, part of which is assisted activity and part of which is autonomous activity.

The distribution of the student's hourly commitment for each formative credit between assisted teaching activities and individual study is broken down as follows:

With reference to the individual CFU:

The type of teaching methods adopted are varied: classroom lectures, numerical and practical exercises in the classroom and in equipped indoor laboratories; outdoor laboratories: field exercises.

Assessment of learning

The assessment of the students' performance is carried out by means of examinations, which may include both a written and an oral test; the lecturer may, during the course of the course, provide for forms of assessment on the topics covered.

The examinations must always be individual and take place under conditions that guarantee the depth, objectivity and fairness of the assessment in relation to the teaching or activity followed and to what is explicitly required for the test. The exam will result in a grade expressed in thirtieths.

In the case of single courses divided into several modules, the examination will consist of a single final exam.

Verification of knowledge of the English language will consist of a written test followed by an interview.

The verification of the results of internships, placements and study periods abroad will be carried out through the presentation of a written report of the activities carried out, which will be approved first by the internal and external tutors and then by the Interclass Council.

Student-choice activities

The activities chosen by the student serve to complete and enrich the knowledge acquired in the course of his/her training. With regard to the student's free-choice training activities, the school offers a number of courses, which together constitute a single examination.

If the student intends to make use of other educational activities (offered by UNIBA), he/she must make a request to the CISG Board, which will assess whether they are consistent with the educational project of the CdS, as prescribed by Art. 10 of DM 270/2004. These activities must in any case have contents that cannot be found in any of the institutional activities envisaged in the official study plan of the degree course attended by the student. The request, after approval by the Council, will be sent to the student secretariat for formal registration.

Activities carried out as part of the Conscious Orientation and the PLS (Piano Lauree Scientifiche) project, implemented by the Department of Earth and Geoenvironmental Sciences, may also be recognised as optional activities; these activities may be recorded in the student's career as early as the end of the second semester of the first year, in accordance with the procedures identified by the Academic Senate.

In this regard, the credits obtained by the student will be recognised for the activities carried out for the acquisition of transversal skills which have been approved by the Board of Directors of the University of Bari Aldo Moro and which constitute one of the actions formally included in the Three-Year Planning Project presented by the University of Bari Aldo Moro and financed by the Ministry, as they will be provided by the Departmental/Didactic structures of the same university and codified by the same. Credits acquired as a result of successful examinations for courses in addition to those that can be counted towards the completion of the course leading to the qualification remain recorded in the student's career and may give rise to subsequent recognition in accordance with the regulations in force. Assessments obtained for these additional courses do not, however, count towards the average marks for profit examinations.

Propaedeuticities

Students are strongly advised to sit examinations and tests in accordance with the course sequence as indicated in the official study plan. However, students will not be able to take third-year examinations unless they have passed all first-year examinations.

Course organisation

The course of study is organised in semesters. For the first year the first semester begins the first week of October and ends the first half of January; for the second and third years the first semester begins the last week of September and ends just before the start of the Christmas holidays. The second semester begins at the beginning of March and ends in the first half of June. The exact start and end dates of each semester will be published on the degree course website from year to year. Between the first and second semester, three profit exams for all courses will be available to current students. A further three appeals will be held in June and July and two in September. For out-of-course students only, there will be appeals every month, except for August. The Interclass Council will decide at the beginning of each semester for a possible short suspension of teaching activities in order to carry out examinations and/or extraordinary appeals for current students.

The majority of teaching involves classroom lectures, classroom exercises and both internal (classroom) and external (field) laboratory. The indoor and outdoor laboratory and classroom exercises are an integral part of the courses. Their attendance is a prerequisite for taking the relevant examination.

The timetable for lectures, exercises and laboratories is within the 8.30 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. slot from Monday to Friday, unless otherwise required. The Department of Earth and Geoenvironmental Sciences, in agreement with the Course Council, contributes towards the costs of external laboratories and the geological campaign within the limits of the funding received annually. At the beginning of each semester, the Council devotes a meeting to this topic. The geological campaign is compulsory: it consists of external laboratory activities lasting several days and entitles the student to the credits allocated to it through the submission and approval of a written report accompanied by a geological map and sections.
