Aims

Migration Studies Summer School focuses on contemporary migration issues and integration policies with the aim of providing an in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of migration flows with an interdisciplinary perspective as well as offering skills useful in migration management.

Fees

The Summer School is sponsored and no tuition fees are required. There is only 27 places available.

Therefore, it is important to send in your applications early.

Scholarships/Bursaries

We are pleased to offer up to 15 scholarships for outstanding international students. The scholarship will cover accommodation and meals during the Summer School. A contribution up to €150 towards travel costs also will be available.

Credits

Successful completion of the Summer School will attract 6 credits (ECTS or CFU).

Eligibility

The Summer School offers only 27 places to students and early career professionals from all over the world can apply. It is particularly suitable for those who want to develop their knowledge and expertise in migration to prepare or improve careers in in government agencies, public administration, national and international institutions and organisations, the third sector, NGOs and academia. 15 places are reserved for international participants.

Teaching team

The teaching activity will be carried out by distinguished academics from the University of Bari and from other universities, including the University of Trento, the University of Milan, the International Business School - Mobility Research Centre as well as professional experts working in the field, from the Central Directorate for Immigration and Border Police, the Directorate General for Immigration and Internal Affairs - European Commission, the Territorial Commission for the Recognition of International Protection of Bari.

Organisation

The Summer School offers young scholars a training opportunity through 6 intensive teaching days including team building activities. Medium of instruction is English. Therefore, participants must have adequate command of English language to benefit fully from the Summer School.

Timetable

The Summer School will run from Monday, July 18 to Saturday, July 23, 2022. Classes are organised into 4 hours sessions in the morning and in the afternoon with adequate breaks in between.

Venue

The Summer School classes will be held at the Department of Political Science and at the Centro Polifunzionale per gli Studenti of the University of Bari in central Bari.
