The Academic Senate is the central academic body of the University of Bari Aldo Moro. It is responsible for academic planning, teaching and research policies, and contributes to the strategic development of the University.

Academic Senate

The Academic Senate is the central academic body of the University of Bari Aldo Moro. It plays a key role in defining academic policies and in coordinating teaching and research activities, contributing to the strategic development of the University.

Functions

The Academic Senate performs the following functions:

  • defines general guidelines for teaching and research
  • coordinates and plans academic activities
  • expresses opinions on strategic planning documents and institutional policies
  • promotes the development and quality of educational programmes
  • ensures consistency between teaching, research and the University’s mission
  • contributes to the overall governance of the University

Composition

The Academic Senate is composed of the Rector, who chairs the body, and representatives of the academic community, in accordance with the provisions of the University Statute.

It includes:

  • the Rector (Chair)
  • representatives of full and associate professors
  • representatives of researchers
  • student representatives
  • other members as defined by the University Statute

Term of Office

The Academic Senate is appointed for a fixed term of office, as established by the University regulations.
