General information and procedures concerning the submission of a grant application

Italian versionThe application for extra grant assistance, drawn up exclusively by Area II (see below) and under penalty of exclusion according to the self-certification form, available in the "Rules and form-filling" section (and distributed at the Area II – Special student subsidies - Department for students and postgraduate education located at the former Post Office Building, Piazza Cesare Battisti 1 - 70121 Bari) must specify the extenuating circumstances for which grant assistance is sought.

In the same form and under their own responsibility, applicants must provide proof of the meritorious requirements they possess and their family's financial situation.

If the student’s family has no income or has declared a net negative income, the family will have to undergo a means-related test before any financial assistance may be granted.

The application must be accompanied by a copy of valid ISEE (indicator of equivalent economic status) and ISPEU (indicator of equivalent university patrimonial status) certification documents for the purposes of attesting to the extreme hardship affecting the applicant.

In order to obtain ISEE and ISPEU certificates, students should go to a CAF (income tax assistance office). 

Students with a disability equal to or over 66% must include appropriate certificates attesting to the disability, available from the authority responsible for assessing disability levels, in accordance with art. 49 of Presidential Decree 445/2000.

Grant application procedures

Applications may be submitted to the Sector I Protocol Office – University Archival Services (Servizio Archivistico di Ateneo) - Piazza Umberto I - Bari or be sent by registered mail to the following address: The Rector - University of Bari Aldo Moro - Department for students and postgraduate education – subsidies for students with special needs office - Sector II Piazza Cesare Battisti 1 - 70121 BARI. In this case, the postmark on the letter must be within the specified deadline.

The application must include a photocopy of a valid student ID card.

Students may apply for grant assistance at any time. Such applications will be assessed (on the following dates: 28 February, 30 June and 31 October of each year) by a committee appointed by the Academic Council who will determine the feasibility and amount of grant assistance.

Grant assistance will be awarded depending on the financial resources available.
