Context analysis

The Department is committed to providing advanced and comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate training, with reference  to multiple areas including transplantation, public health, oncology and clinical sciences It recognizes the importance of doctoral courses and residency programs and is committed to further enhancing and strengthening these programs in order warrant, to enrolled students, updated and in-depth knowledge in the preclinical, medical and surgical sectors.

This course portfolio will allow students to entry into strategic areas of the scientific-health sector at an international level.

The Department aims to strengthen its academic course offer also with reference to the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery based in Taranto using regional funding allocated for this purpose.

The Department includes:

- 11 Degree Courses

- 22 Specialization Schools

- 3 Higher Education Courses

- 3 Doctorate Courses

- 5 Transversal Skills Courses (AA 2023/24)

Vision

The Department is actively involved in the revision of the Teaching Regulations of various Courses of Study to update the educational objectives so to include recent advancements  in the field of biomedical research knowledge.

Furthermore, the Department's professors contribute to the implementation of teaching programs of additional Degree Courses provided by other Departments such as Degree Courses in Medicine and Surgery in Italian and English.

The Department includes 3 PhD Courses, and it is a commitment of DiMePRe-J to increase the number of international students who enrols in the 3 Courses also with advertising activities targeting foreign countries including those of the Mediterranean Basin. Furthermore, several Visiting Professors are hosted by DiMePRe-J as part of teaching activities related to Degree courses, PhDs and Specialization Schools.
