Planned Educational Activity For Ph.D. Students

Teaching Activities

The Ph.D. student will acquire 14 CFU through course attendance as a structured and compulsory common teaching activity. In addition to the credits acquired through the common activity, the Ph.D. student may acquire an additional 6 CFU by choice through participation in seminars, short courses, or by attending a master's university course of a topic related to the Ph.D. topics. 

Common teaching activities: 

Activities related to structured teaching will be as follows: 

 

Linguistics:  

Linguistic activities will be aimed at improving written and oral proficiency in English, aimed at writing and translating texts of various kinds relating to scientific research. Functions and meanings of syntactic forms characteristic of scientific writing and academic discourse will be explored. 

 

Computer Science:  

Aim is to consolidate the preparation of Ph.D. students in the application of information technology with particular reference to data processing. The Ph.D. student will acquire the skills to identify appropriate strategies for analyzing and interpreting data using computer applications related to statistics. 

 

Management of research, knowledge of research and funding systems:  

With this activity, the Ph.D. student should acquire the necessary knowledge and skills on how to acquire and manage research resources. 

 

Valorisation of research results and intellectual property:  

With this activity, the Ph.D. student should acquire the necessary knowledge and skills on how to write a scientific paper and how to present the results to a qualified audience. The training will also include notions of patenting and its economic exploitation.
