PhD in Historical and Philosophical Heritage for Sustainable Innovation

Description

The PhD in Historical and Philosophical Heritage for Sustainable Innovation is designed to address the challenges of an increasingly complex global society, shaped by rapid innovation, continuous flows of information, and profound social and cultural transformations. In this context, the humanities are called upon to renew their methods, redefine their role, and contribute critically to the interpretation of the present.

The programme provides doctoral students with the theoretical and methodological tools required to carry out original, rigorous, and historically grounded research. Special emphasis is placed on critical thinking, interdisciplinary dialogue, and the international dimension of academic work.

Structured around two main curricula—Historical Disciplines and Philosophical Disciplines—the PhD promotes a strongly interdisciplinary approach, encouraging reflection on the relationship between historical processes, forms of thought, and the major issues of the contemporary world. Particular attention is devoted to the themes of innovation, sustainability, inclusion, resilience, and ecological and digital transition.
