Training profile

The Specialization School in Otorhinolaryngology trains medical specialists with advanced expertise in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases affecting the ear, nose, paranasal sinuses, pharynx, larynx and neck.

The training programme integrates theoretical, clinical, professional and research activities in otorhinolaryngology, audiology, vestibology, phoniatrics, and oncological and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck region.

Skills developed

  • Diagnosis and treatment of otological and rhinological disorders.
  • Endoscopic sinonasal surgery and head and neck surgery.
  • Diagnosis and treatment of hearing and balance disorders.
  • Management of voice, swallowing and upper airway disorders.
  • Clinical, professional and research activities in otorhinolaryngology.

Access and admission

Admission is through the national competition for Medical Area Specialization Schools reserved for medical graduates, published annually by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
