Training profile

The Specialization School in Ophthalmology trains medical specialists with advanced expertise in the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the eye and its adnexa.

The training programme integrates theoretical, clinical, professional and research activities in cataract surgery, glaucoma, retinal and corneal diseases, neuro-ophthalmology, as well as modern ophthalmic diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.

  • Ophthalmic microsurgery and cataract surgery.

Access and admission

Admission is through the national competition for Medical Area Specialization Schools reserved for medical graduates, published annually by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
