Training profile

The Specialization School in Nuclear Medicine trains medical specialists with advanced expertise in the diagnostic and therapeutic use of unsealed ionising radiation and molecular imaging techniques.

The training programme integrates theoretical, clinical, professional and research activities in PET and SPECT imaging, radionuclide therapy, dosimetry, radiation protection and personalised medicine based on molecular imaging.

  • Functional and molecular imaging using PET, SPECT and other nuclear medicine techniques.
  • Clinical use of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  • Management of radiation protection and radiation safety procedures.

Access and admission

Admission is through the national competition for Medical Area Specialization Schools reserved for medical graduates, published annually by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
