Training profile

The Specialization School in Cardiovascular Diseases trains medical specialists with advanced expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

The training programme integrates theoretical, clinical, professional and research activities in clinical cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation.

Skills developed

  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases.
  • Use of cardiovascular imaging and instrumental diagnostic techniques.
  • Management of heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias and ischaemic heart disease.
  • Cardiovascular prevention and cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Clinical, professional and research activities in cardiology.

Access and admission

Admission is through the national competition for Medical Area Specialization Schools reserved for medical graduates, published annually by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
