SCIENZE E TECNICHE DELLO SPORT
The Master’s Degree programme in Sports Science and Techniques (LM-68) trains professionals in the sports sector who are able to apply advanced cultural, methodological, and technical–practical expertise, with particular reference to: a) The design, coordination, and technical management of physical and athletic preparation activities across different sports and levels, up to the professional level, within sports associations, federations, promotional bodies, institutions, and specialized centers. b) The design, coordination, and technical management of competitive sports activities at all levels, including elite competition, within sports associations, federations, sports promotion organizations, institutions, and specialized centers. c) The design, coordination, and technical management of physical and athletic preparation, as well as competitive sports activities for individuals with disabilities. d) Personalized physical and technical training aimed at both individual and team competition. The curriculum includes: the biological foundations of physical exercise aimed at both amateur and advanced competitive practice, considering the type of sport, expected performance level, environmental conditions, age, and gender of the athlete, with particular attention to physical and psychological adaptation processes. The conceptual foundations of training theories across different individual and team sports contexts, with the ability to adapt various models according to age, gender, and athletes’ abilities. Methods and techniques of motor and sports activities specific to various disciplines, with the ability to adapt such knowledge to different sporting contexts, gender and age differences, disabilities, socio-cultural environments, and both individual and group objectives. Knowledge of methods and tools for functional assessment of the body systems involved in sports practice, including the ability to provide technical consultancy and testing of goods and services used in the field. Methods for evaluating physical and sports performance, including the ability to apply and interpret results across different disciplines and in relation to gender, age, disability, and performance goals. Knowledge of human nutrition as applied to sports performance, in relation to training and recovery requirements specific to different disciplines. Awareness of health risks associated with the use of performance-enhancing practices, whether legally or illegally sanctioned, knowledge of related regulations, and the ability to implement effective prevention and intervention measures. The ability to manage groups, understand group dynamics, and guide team-building and development processes aimed at creating and managing sports teams or associations. Knowledge of the regulations governing sports activities and the legal responsibilities related to one’s professional role, as well as the institutional and organizational frameworks involved in sports management.
