POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES

The course of study aims to train a qualified technical-administrative professional figure in order to meet the new needs of public administrations, private companies and, more generally, the labor market. Such a professional profile is completed by the acquisition of a European and international dimension, ascertaining the increasing dependence of public policies (at national and regional level) on the supranational dynamics of political and economic-social processes. The professional figure intended for private companies is specifically oriented to hold Administrative positions in the management of work, contractual and commercial activities, as well as in strategic planning. As far as Public Administrations are concerned, on the other hand, the professional figure is able to cover all administrative (non-technical) functions. The graduates' knowledge of method and cultural content are therefore aimed at training professionals capable of effectively interpreting change and innovation in public and private administrations in their various profiles. Graduates will be able to assist public institutions, private business organizations and those of the third sector in the design and implementation of initiatives aimed at promoting the economic, social and civil development of communities. In detail, the graduate will acquire knowledge of the institutional system and its functioning, from different disciplinary points of view; will be able to analyze and address the problems related to the organizational and administrative management of the Entities, also strong in social and political skills, identifying the most appropriate intervention tools; he/she will be able to assume managerial and executive functions within public or private bodies that carry out organizational, administrative and cultural services. Graduates in the degree course will acquire technical and administrative skills that will allow them, within complex public and private structures, to plan and choose the action to be taken, to determine the correctness of the action undertaken, its costs and benefits and to predict and evaluate its results. Graduates will also be able to develop their professionalism through employment consultancy. The training course is characterized by teachings from different disciplinary areas, with the aim of making the student learn an interdisciplinary methodology useful for applying the knowledge acquired in the work context. In each year of the course of study, the various courses are aimed at providing general knowledge in several areas. To this end, the training course offers particular attention to legal and economic disciplines as a point of reference for the study of the organizational and administrative phenomenon, in tune with the transformations of recent decades, but also offers training in the social, historical, political and demographic-statistical sciences that characterizes the training in the tradition of Political Science studies. In addition, special importance is given to language training. More specifically, during the first year, the courses provided concern the basic disciplines (political economy, general sociology, private law, political philosophy, public law and contemporary history) and allow the student both to acquire fundamental knowledge and to learn an interdisciplinary study method. In the following years, the training course allows students to deepen their knowledge with courses specifically oriented to the professional profiles indicated. In addition, during the third year, in addition to characterizing disciplines, there are several blocks of courses as an alternative to each other, among which the student can identify those most suitable for the functional preparation for the chosen occupational profiles.
