How to Graduate
In order to graduate students must complete all the exams listed in the study plan and the internship.
The final exam consists in the defense, in front of a committee, of a written dissertation on a research project on a topic related to a course of the study plan. This work has to be original and the personal contribution of the graduate should be evident. The candidate must choose among the courses of the MSc in Physics.
The request for the topic must be made at least six (6) months before the graduation session by filling the thesis assignment form and the internship form. At the time of the request the student must have acquired at least 60 credits. The Faculty board will have to approve the dissertation proposal in the first meeting following the submission of the application.
The procedures concerning the drafting of the final dissertation, the relationship with the supervisor and reviewer, the assessment of the grade, and the final exam are described and regulated by the Academic Regulation for the relative academic year.
To access the final exam, students must request the topic he student is also required to comply with the delivery times indicated on the same thesis assignment form and the time and methods of enrollment to the graduation session envisaged by the student registrar, based on the graduation sessions.
The members of the Graduation committee are established by the University Regulations.
For the evaluation of the final dissertation, the committee may award from 0 to 5 points.

Fulfilments at the Student Secretariat (Former Biology Department Building - 1st floor)
In order to be admitted to the final exam, students must:
- acquire, by taking the relevant examinations, the number of university credits laid down in the relative Academic Regulation.
- submit an application to the student secretariat, enclosing a payment of € 67.60 (c/c 8706 made payable to Università degli Studi di Bari), according to the following deadlines:
- for Summer sessions: from April 21 to 30 each year;
- for Fall sessions: from September 1 to 10 each year;
- for Additional sessions: from December 1 to 10 each year.
The Summer session includes graduation sessions hold between May 1 and September 30.
The Fall session includes graduation sessions between October 1 and January 31.
The Additional session includes graduation sessions between February 1 and April 30.
The graduation application must be completed exclusively online, by logging on to the ESSE3 online secretariat (section "Degree").
Students must submit the dissertation online on BiblioTela through the SCeRPA platform by using their ESSE3 credentials at the following link: https://scerpa.ict.uniba.it/user/login at least 15 days before the graduation session.
Students are also required to express their willingness to whether or not enter their resume in the Alma Laurea database. Therefore, the obligation to hand in the receipt for the online completion of the ALMA LAUREA questionnaire or, in case of withdrawal, the “Self Declaration” and/or application for exclusion from the AlmaLaurea graduate database remains unchanged.

Requirements prior to the graduation session
The week before the graduation session, graduating students will have a meeting with the Chair of the Graduation Committee. During the meeting, the Chair verifies that the students meet all the requirements for admission to the graduation session and makes recommendations on how to proceed.
