Management of Green spaces, Forests and Protected areas
The NEST Bachelor's Degree Programme at the University of Bari Aldo Moro prepares professionals to address the challenges of ecological transition, biodiversity conservation and sustainable land management. Through a multidisciplinary curriculum, students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to design, manage and enhance urban green spaces, forests and protected areas, contributing to environmental quality, community well-being and the achievement of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The programme combines a strong scientific foundation with extensive hands-on learning through laboratory activities, practical classes, design projects, technical field visits and internships. This practice-oriented approach enables students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts while developing professional skills that are immediately relevant to the job market.
NEST also has a strong international outlook, offering selected courses taught in English and promoting international mobility opportunities and collaborations with foreign universities and research institutions. These experiences prepare graduates to work effectively in European and global professional environments.
The programme is delivered as a conventional degree (Type A), combining face-to-face teaching with a limited proportion of synchronous online instruction, in accordance with the distributed learning model. This innovative approach provides greater flexibility while preserving the high educational value of practical and laboratory-based activities, which are a defining feature of the programme.
With NEST, a passion for nature becomes a profession, preparing graduates to design greener cities, sustainably manage forest resources, protect ecosystems and contribute to the environmental, social and economic sustainability of our territories.
