Management of Green spaces, Forests and Protected areas

The Degree Programme is designed for students who are eager to address global environmental challenges and contribute to the creation of more sustainable, resilient landscapes. It provides a strong academic and practical foundation in the management of urban green spaces, forests, and protected areas, aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Combining scientific knowledge with hands-on experience, the programme prepares graduates for international career opportunities or further academic study. Students develop the technical, analytical, and professional skills needed to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural contexts. The programme offers two main academic pathways: Urban Green Space Management This track focuses on the planning, design, and maintenance of urban green infrastructure, including parks, gardens, ornamental trees, and urban forests. Students also explore innovative solutions such as green roofs, green walls, and sustainable landscaping, while contributing to projects in urban regeneration and climate adaptation. Forest and Protected Areas Management This pathway is dedicated to the sustainable management and conservation of natural ecosystems. Students gain expertise in forest planning, reforestation, biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration, and the management of rural and protected landscapes. During the first two years, all students follow a common curriculum that builds a solid interdisciplinary foundation before progressing to their chosen specialisation. A distinctive feature of the programme is its strong emphasis on experiential learning. Through fieldwork, design studios, technical site visits, and project-based activities, students engage directly with real-world environmental issues and professional practices. By joining this programme, students become part of an international learning environment committed to sustainability, innovation, and environmental stewardship—equipping them to make a meaningful impact at local, national, and global levels.
