INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT IN AGRI-FOOD SYSTEMS (IDEAS)

The Degree Course aims to train a professional able to carry out his or her functions as an Innovation Intermediary in the agri-food sector (AgriFood Innovation Broker). This professional figure is able to develop and transfer knowledge from the scientific world to the business world to innovate the agri-food sector with the aim of making the use of production factors efficient and enhancing biomass with a view to a circular economy that leads to sustainable and economically advantageous production and processing. The context of the topics covered is international, having as its focal point the concept of sustainability and innovation of agricultural and food production to reduce consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants and improve human health and the environment. Sustainability is achieved through the introduction of innovation aimed at reducing the impacts of production and at the same time exploring new agri-food scenarios and contexts. The nature of the study program is aimed at the application of innovative technologies in the agri-food sector through a multidisciplinary bottom-up approach.
