Historical and Social Sciences
The educational objectives of the Master's Degree Course are integrated and correlated with those of the Bachelor's Degree Course in History. The course in Historical and Social Sciences aims to provide graduates with an in-depth knowledge of history, based on full mastery of the tools and methodologies of historical research. Particular attention will be paid, on the one hand, to the types of documentation, their potential and forms of analysis; on the other hand, to the most salient stages of the historiographical debate with specific regard to its recent developments. The course of study aims to provide specific and in-depth training in Italian, European and world history from antiquity to the contemporary age, interweaving the different forms and dimensions that characterize historical investigation, from political history to that of institutional structures, economic and settlement systems, regulations, cultural and gender factors. The courses provided allow students to acquire the knowledge, methods and practices of historical studies at a specialized level, allowing students to be able to critically use the different types of sources and historiographical literature, in relation to historical eras and specific themes and phenomena of particular interest in the field of human and social sciences.
