Learning objectives

ITA bandiera-italiana.jpg

The aim is to train an expert professional figure who knows how to operate on the territory and can respond to the numerous challenges that global changes, including climate change, are throwing at the whole of humanity. In relation to these phenomena, it must be emphasised how the study of the geological peculiarities of the Italian territory, associated with the analysis of the effects that endogenous and exogenous dynamic processes have on it, cannot be separated from an analysis of the broader context of the Mediterranean basin, a geographical area to which the training offer presented here is essentially (but not exclusively) aimed. In fact, there are many shared interests among the countries bordering the Mediterranean basin, in the field of Earth Sciences: among these, the sustainable use of geo-resources, with special attention to water and energy resources, the evaluation and use of geo-materials and their inclusion in a circular economy perspective, and the evaluation of risk conditions deriving from endogenous processes and climate change, in order to direct actions that increase resilience to the effects of events with a high impact on populations.
