Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics

Graduates of the master's degree programs in dentistry and dental prosthetics perform activities related to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of congenital and acquired diseases and anomalies of the teeth, mouth, jaw bones, temporomandibular joints, and related tissues, as well as dental rehabilitation, prescribing all medications and devices necessary for practicing their profession. Graduates of this program possess a level of professional, cultural, decision-making, and operational autonomy that allows them to continuously update their knowledge, having followed a training program characterized by a holistic approach to oral health issues, whether healthy or ill, also in relation to the physical and social environment surrounding them. To this end, the master's degree program provides a total of 360 (three hundred and sixty) credits (CFU) over 6 (six) years of study, of which at least 90 (ninety) must be acquired through professionalizing clinical training activities, to be carried out in an integrated manner with other training activities at university healthcare facilities. Professional training is mandatory and required for the master's degree and is planned by the teaching regulations within the overall duration of the program. Regarding the definition of curricula designed to carry out the activities required by Directive 78/687/EEC, the university teaching regulations comply with the provisions of this decree and Article 6, paragraph 3, of Ministerial Decree No. 270/04. Starting with the 2023/2024 cohort, pursuant to Articles 1 and 3 of Law No. 163 of November 8, 2021, the final examination for the single-cycle master's degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics - class LM-46 qualifies students to practice dentistry. New update: The admission test has been abolished: enrollment in the first semester of courses is open to all, in accordance with Legislative Decree no. 71/2025 and Ministerial Decrees no. 418 of May 30, 2025, and no. 431 of June 20, 2025.
