The Program is part of the Department of Precision, Regenerative and Ionian Area Medicine within the School of Medicine. The teaching location is at AOU Policlinico, Piazza Giulio Cesare 11 - BARI. Educational objectives: By the end of the three-year course, biomedical laboratory technician graduates should be able to collect and verify biological samples, ensuring they conform to requests and preparing them for the next stage. They should also be able to plan and execute the analytical phase using suitable methods and technologies, adhering to laboratory quality recommendations and requirements. Additionally, they should critically evaluate and document test and analysis results in accordance with the laboratory’s quality system, considering patient health and treatment. Furthermore, they should manage the diagnostic process in line with the quality system and contribute to the development of systems for controlling test and analysis validity. Finally, they should ensure a safe workplace while collaborating in risk assessment. Conduct independent investigations using databases and search engines to acquire and evaluate new knowledge related to various laboratory technologies, and implement preventive and protective measures accordingly. This information is then used to contribute to the development of methods and implementation of tests and analyses.
