Curriculum

Prof. Vincenzo Tufarelli is Associate Professor of Animal Nutrition at the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, Italy. He has considerable experience in animal and poultry nutrition. He is involved in many research collaborations, even with international institutions, in the field of animal science and feed quality and technology. The research topics are mainly focused on the study of the quality of diets for livestock species, with particular reference to: the effects of feed technology in animal feeding; the use feed by-products in sheep and goat feeding; the use of wheat and its by-products in poultry nutrition; the influence of feed particle size on poultry and rabbit performance; the use of alternative protein sources in poultry nutrition and meat quality. He is serving as editorial board member and peer reviewer for indexed journals. Prof. Vincenzo Tufarelli is currently a member of: World's Poultry Science Association - Italian Branch), the American Society of Animal Science and the Poultry Science Association and the Italian Association for Science and Animal Production (ASPA). He has established scientific collaboration relationships with foreign research institutes (Department of Agricultural Sciences, Tennessee State University, Nashville, USA; Department of Botany and Microbiology, Faculty of Science, Minia University, Minia, Egypt; Department of Animal Science, Rasht Branch, Islamic Azad University, Rasht, Iran; Department of Animal Health, The University of Agriculture, Peshawar, Pakistan; Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) Izatnagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India; Institute of Tropical Agriculture, University of Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Malaysia; College of Animal Science, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, China). He published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and conference papers focused on animal nutrition and science. He was elected Head of the School of Specialization in "Technology and Pathology of Poultry, Rabbit and Game Species" for the a.y. 2023/2026.
