Curriculum

Michelangelo Ceci is an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Bari, Italy. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science with the thesis “Naive “Bayesian Learning from Structural Data”. He was visiting researcher at the University of Bristol (U.K.) and at the Jozef Stefan Institute (Slovenia). In the last years, he has published more than 130 papers in multi-relational data mining, text mining, spatial data mining, spatio-temporal data mining, semi-supervised/transductive learning on refereed journals and conferences. He is the national coordinator of the of the project: FP7612944 MAESTRA and coordinator of a research unit in the PONREC project Vi-POC. He participated in several national (e.g. PRIN-COFIN 2001,2009) and international research projects (e.g. IST-1999-20882: COLLATE). He is serving/has served in the program committee of several international/national conferences, including: IEEE ICDM, IJCAI, ECMLPKDD, SIAM SDM, ECAI, ISMIS, PAKDD, DEXA, ACM SAC. He is member of the editorial board of: IJSNM, IJDATS, Journal on Advances in Intelligent Systems. He participated to the organization (as co-chair) of four international workshops. He was the organizing committee chair of SEBD-2007. He was member of the editorial committee of "Intelligenza Artificiale" and demo chair of ECMLPKDD 2012. He is member of the editorial board of the ECML/PKDD 2014, 2015 and 2016 journal tracks and general chair of ECML/PKDD2017.
