- Associate Professor in Food Inspection (VET/04), at the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
Professional qualifications:
- Doctorate fellowship in “Infectious diseases of carnivore” (XV cicle) (A.A. 1999/2002).
- Researcher assegnist in “Studies about histological and immunohistochemical diagnostic tests for Leptospirosis in sheep and goats” (A.A. 2002/2004).
- Specialization course “Pathology and technology of avian species, rabbits and wild animals” (A.A. 2003/2006).
Academic assignments:
- Member of the working group of degree course in Animal Science and Food Productions University of Bari (from 2014).
- Member of the working group for the orientation of students of secondary schools for the degree course in Veterinary Medicine (Coordinator Prof Quaranta Angelo – from 2008).

RESEARCH
Main research fields:
The research activity is focused on epidemiological investigations aimed to determination of Ochratoxin A in feeds and tissues of different animal species; evaluations of cytological and histological alterations.
Determination of residues of heavy metals and principal cytological and histological alterations in muscle, liver and kidney of slaughtered animals.
Research projects:
- Evaluation of illegal treatment by dexamethasone in calves through the comparison of analytical techniques.
- Evaluation of the presence of cadmium in the muscle, liver and kidney of horses and regularly slaughtered in the Province of Bari.
- Identification of an analytical method for the detection of ochratoxin A in eggs in layng hens experimentally treated.
