Professional Curricula

Maria Teresa has participated in many research projects of national and international interest. She is cofounder of the Software Engineering Research and Practices s.r.l. (www.serandp.com) spin off company. The company startup was in 2007 from a group of 10 researchers of the University of Bari and 7 regional and national IT companies. The company has achieved important results in technology transfer of research results from University to Industry.

Maria Teresa has promoted the agreement between University of Bari Department of Informatics and the Project Management Institute (pmi.org) finalized in spreading project management culture towards students. In this sense she teaches courses based on project management concepts that allow students to achieve Education/Contact hours necessary for accessing the CAPM/PMP exam. She is also co-founder of the Branch Puglia of Project Management Institute – Southern Italy Chapter.

Scientific Curricula

Maria Teresa Baldassarre, has started her research activity in the Software Engineering Research Laboratory (SERLAB) at the department of informatics in Bari on October 2001. Her research activities concern software engineering issues, with particular interest towards development and experimentation of methods, models and practices for:

  • assuring software product quality through continuous monitoring and improvement of software processes.
  • Developing software applications by reusing existing components
  • Formalize experience in order to make it transferable
  • Provide support to research activities through empirical studies.

Since 2009 Maria Teresa Baldassarre represents the University of Bari in the International Software Engineering Research Network - ISERN (http://isern.iese.de/Portal/)

Maria Teresa has supervised several master degree and PhD students. Furthermore she has co-supervised PhD students from other Universities (Brasil, Spain, Colombia) and hosted them at the Department of Informatics of Bari within collaboration projects with their Universities of origin.

She is currently reference of two PhD Co-tutele agreements between University of Bari and University of Castilla la Mancha (UCLM) (reference Prof.Mario Piattini).

She is the reference of the Memorandum of Understanding agreement signed between University of Bari and Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Recife Brazil (reference Prof. Fabio da Silva).
