Mediterranean Journal of Mathematics
La rivista Mediterranean Journal of Mathematics è stata istituita nel 2004 dal Dipartimento di Matematica dell'Università di Bari ed è pubblicata dalla casa editrice Birkhäuser Verlag. Essa fa seguito alla rivista "Conferenze del Seminario di Matematica dell'Università di Bari" stampata dal 1954 fino al 2003 sempre a cura del Dipartimento di Matematica.
La nuova rivista, concepita con finalità diverse dalla precedente, intende pubblicare e diffondere lavori originali di ricerca relativi a tutti i settori della Matematica. Inoltre, pur essendo aperta ai contributi di tutti i matematici, essa vuole offrire a quelli dei paesi dell'area del Mediterraneo un'opportunità per rendere noti e valorizzare in una rivista comune i risultati delle proprie ricerche.
Attraverso questa iniziativa si intende dare un contributo allo sviluppo di nuove collaborazioni scientifiche ed al processo di integrazione fra le Università dei paesi del Mediterraneo.
Questo aspetto, oltre a criteri più propriamente scientifici, è stato tenuto in considerazione nella individuazione del Comitato di Redazione.
The Mediterranean Journal of Mathematics(MedJM) is a new publication issued by the Department of Mathematics of the University of Bari. The new journal replaces the Conferenze del Seminario di Matematica dell’Università di Bari which has been in publication from 1954 until 2003.
The journal published by Birkhäuser Verlag AG - Basel. Mediterranean Journal of Mathematics aims to publish original and high-quality peer-reviewed papers containing significant results across all fields of mathematics. Furthermore it intends to offer mathematicians from the Mediterranean countries a particular opportunity to circulate the results of their researches in a common journal.
Through such a new cultural and scientific stimulus the journal aims to contribute to further integration amongst Mediterranean universities, though it is open to contribution from mathematicians across the world.
