AVA Spring Meeting 2011

Dear Colleagues

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 2011 Spring Meeting of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists (AVA) that will be held at the Sheraton Nicolaus Hotel & Conference Centre, in Bari, Italy, from April 13^th to 15^th. Bari is a seaside city, one of the most important city of the southern Italy with one of the largest universities of the country. It has been a natural centre for both trade and cultural exchange between the east and the west for centuries.

The main AVA meeting will be held on 14^th and 15^th of April and State of the Art Lectures and oral/poster presentations will cover all aspects of anaesthesia, analgesia and intensive care. Particular interest will be dedicated to the pulmonary ventilation, respiratory physiology and gas exchange during general anaesthesia and intensive care. As a tradition for the AVA meeting, international recognized speakers both in human and veterinary medicine will be invited providing up-to-date information about their subject.

The meeting program will also include a pre-congress “residents day” seminar on Mechanical Ventilation and Respiratory Mechanics during General Anaesthesia” (April 13^th) and a post-congress anaesthesia refresher course for veterinary practitioners (April 16^th) that will cover different topics in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia.

This meeting will also be an occasion to enjoy the typical cuisine and wine of Puglia. And finally for those who enjoy natural and archaeological treasures you will not be disappointed.
